Don't be afraid of a bit of debate, we're not referring to quarrelling as a couple but talking about controversial issues like the news, religion, your beliefs on politics. It makes a relationship more interesting and you will get to know one another on a deeper level if you really take their argument into consideration so that you can contest it with your own. We guess you could also refer to it as a bit of loving competition.

Make time for one another and make plans, if you have dates set aside where your time will be dedicated to each other you have something to look forward to as a couple.

On the other end of the scale, make sure you also can be your own person without them and spend time with each of your friends, family and hobbiesactivities as an individual.

A lot of people are afraid of making themselves seem vulnerable to their other half but bottling emotions up is bad for you and you should feel comfortable talking to them no matter what it may be about.

Listen to each other, even when you're angry. Sometimes you need to put your pride aside and listen to what they're saying instead of arguing back. Your partner is telling you something important to them, so be selfless, hear them out and then you can have your say, hopefully they will give you the chance to say what you need to also.
