i have been a seaman all of my working life starting from leaving school i went to sea as a fisherman working out of the port of lowestoft working from the deck to skippercaptain , when the decline came in the 70's i then joined the merchant navy working on tugs - supply ships to the oil rigs and many other things to do with the oil travelling all over the world until i got osteo-arthritis this ended my sea career so i retired at 58 and as i was on crutches i didn't have any chance of further employment . |
