I love the outdoors, particularly running, biking, fishing, camping, and hiking. I'm a hands-on type of person. I love building things, fixing things, or just learning how things work. I'm the guy who attempts to make something instead of buying it, or fix something myself instead of taking it to the pros.
When not outdoors, you can find me reading or writing. I focus primarily on Harlem Renaissance-era literature and poetry, but I do also enjoy more contemporary works such as memoirs and historical or creative non-fictions, theory, and short stories. As far as my non-academic interests, I absolutely love Cormac McCarthy and own all of his books (minus a few plays). I also love the writing style of Junot Diaz.
