Wow, 55 and starting over again. Just when you thought everything’s ok. I read somewhere that diversity builds character. I believe that, because when events, situations, circumstances, do not go your way, you can dig a hole and crawl into it or put the shovel down and move on in a positive direction. That’s where I am now. Recently divorced with three beautiful children. Benjamin 8, Joey 5, and Sophia 3. My children mean everything to me. They are my life.
I’m in good health, I love my job, I love my kids, the only piece of the puzzle that’s missing is companionship. In the past couple of years my wife(ex) and I have drifted miles and miles apart. The love and affection that once filled our life together permanently gone. Living as roommates.
I have always been a SU fan. Love to watch SU basketball and football. At one time a season ticket holder for both sports. Then the kids came along, and well, priorities. Besides being a sports fan I love to watch movies on the big screen at the theater, or the big screen at home. Movies of all kinds. Drama, thrillers, horror. They could be hit movies or indie B-movies. Just cuddling up on the couch with someone is something that I miss.
Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not just a homebody. I love the outdoors. When the weather is nice, and I can get time off from work, camping is an option. I’m planning to purchase a 18 ft open bow boat this coming spring. Of course I was planning that purchase last spring . Anything outdoors, cookouts, going to field days, garage sales, outdoor concerts, you name it, I’m game. Did I mention I like going out to dinner. Love food.
If I had to state my goals it would be short and simple. Number one: Be the best father I can be. Number two: never take my job(work) for granted. And number three: take care of mind, body and spirit by taking care of my priorities and responsibilities, going to the gym three times a week, and thanking God for everything I have.
