I learned to sail when I was around 10, and worked on my skills since then. In 2017 I was finally able to buy my first "sailboat," a Macgregor 26. I quickly found out that the Macgregor wasn't enough of a sailboat so I bought a 1977 Fuji 32 Cutter and re-powered and restored the boat in preparation for sailing to Hawaii. I loved that boat but when I retired from the Navy plans changed and I was able to buy a sailing catamaran (Privilege 435 EZC). I live on it and am preparing it for a world cruise in a couple years.
