Messages Do any of you ladies out there receive requests to chat via an alternative method ( text ) ? Very annoying and certainly won't be giving out my number to anyone who is not a genuine member.

I smell a rat Surely there has to be more to a dating site than having to put up with messages and winks from members whose accounts are suddenly deactivated.

I smell a rat I see there's a sudden surge again in phony members on here. A message, a like, a wink and their gone. What's the point ?

Birthday Only 15 years to retirement, although the government may have another say in that matter before I reach pensionable age. Anyway I'm going to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has wished me a happy birthday. Now what time was that hot date meant to turn up ? ๐Ÿ˜‚

Carona and the fallout Having read through many of the FB posts over the past few days / weeks, I can't help feeling sympathetic towards those who have been affected directly or indirectly by the current Carona Pandemic. However when I hear people moaning about losing a holiday or having to sit in a house day after day with very little contact with the outside world, then think again. Spare a thought for all those people who spend every day of their lives without the everyday things we all take for granted. They are the ones who we should be looking to. Our current plight is worrying, that there's no denying, but maybe it's time to take stock of what we've got and count ourselves lucky that we have got the chance to help each other through the unknown. I jokingly made a comment at work recently about self isolation and that I do that every weekend, however I was shot down as being full of self pity. The point I was trying to make was the lack of contact with other people and how it aff

The End Well, my time on here is quickly coming to an end so it's time to say farewell and best wishes to all of those who have made the effort to get in touch and also to all of those who are still searching for their idea partner. While my quest to find that special person has not paid off, I can only hope that all will not be lost and one day I will find someone to help me make life worth living for. Let's hope that 2020 will return to something close to normal and that we can all pick up our lives again. Farewell folks :)

Light at the end of the tunnel After getting the keys to my new house 2 weeks ago, I can just about see light at the end of the tunnel and all being well, should be moved in by the weekend. Still loads to get ( bed sofa ) but well on the way to being habitable.Seems strange after 23 years of living with someone and then 2 years back with my parents, I find myself setting up in my own place. Still, a new beginning awaits :)

Time for Reflection When I first joined this site I can honestly say that I had a few reservations about what I was getting into, however it has become apparent that maybe it's not for me. Yes I have met up with a few and enjoyed a chat and a drink, however it's apparent that I'm falling short of some people's expectations. That does not worry me. I am who I am and that's all that matters. Time will tell I guess.

Black Eye Friday Well another Black Eye Friday has come and gone and to be honest, I don't know what all the fuss is about. A goodnight has been had by all. Oh and when and when a young lady ( below the age of 50 ) commented on the fact she thought I'd had Botox, well you should have seen the look on my face

Honesty Is honesty telling someone they want to get to know you and then completely ignore you ?

Initial Contact Is it just me being old fashioned, or is it normal these days for people send a hello message and then totally blank your reply ? I joined this a while ago and while I've met some lovely, genuine ladies, I have also noticed that there are members out there who appear to enjoy playing games. If people out there are serious about being on here and meeting or getting to know someone, then is it too much to ask to be a little bit more respectful.

Inactive Members Wonder why people bother sending messages and marking you as a favourite and then deactivate their account ?

Moving House They say that moving home and divorce are the 2 most stressful periods a person can go through. Never thought I'd experience the 2 in the same year, but hey ho, new house, new start.
