What do ladies want on a first date or what is expected?

Something that has always puzzled me, is " What do you ladies what to do on a date?"

Now me I'm happy to go with what the lady wants to do, but if the lady isn't sure, then I'm happy to go for drinks or lunch first date and then fun filled things after that.

Maybe this is where I get it wrong and the ladies want to be wined and dined first date.

Personally I prefer a brief meeting initially, something as simple as coffee or maybe lunch. I want to leave my date intriuged and wanting more. Plus if (god forbid) you dont get on, you've got a chance to escape!

I want to be shown a good time and have fun on a first date, and that means the guy paying I'm afraid.
