This is probably the case with the Time Traveler’s Wife, not that the film isn’t brilliant, it’s just that reading the story at your own pace helps you appreciate it’s beauty for a lot longer than the hour and a half that the average movie usually lasts for. Follow Henry, the dapper librarian and Clare the artist whom he falls in love as he travels time (yes he actually travels time!)
The Great Gatsby - F.Scott Fitzgerald
The story revolves around the relationship of Gatsby and his true love Daisy who have actually already met 5 years preceding to the beginning of the book. They deeply love one another but are driven apart when Gatsby serves in an overseas war, Daisy marries the brute that is mogul Tom Buchanan. Gatsby returns and is determined to win back his love as well as amassing lots of money. He eventually successfully achieves his target but tragedy ensues..
