If you should ever despair and ponder the existence of real love, just remember this couple who's love for one another overcame the obstacles in their way.

In the 1970's Irina and Woodfard McClellan met one another in Moscow, fell deeply in love and after two years were married. Irina was a Russian national but Woolford was an American professor, not long after their marriage his visa ran out and he had to leave the country. His attempts to re-enter to see his beloved wife were refused and she wasn't allowed to leave the country for some unknown reason.

They never gave up on one another, they kept in touch by phone calls and sending cards and photos to each other. After 11 long years, the government allowed her to leave the country and she was granted American citizenship.

The emotional reunion was captured by reporters and crowds of people who had heard of their plight and wanted to be there for such a beautiful moment as when they ran into each others' arms for the first time in over a decade.
