I'll dive straight in, I lived with an older woman I would unreservedly describe as a 'soulmate' for 15 years, who died 4 years ago. Without doubt the time I spent with her made me a better person, but nowhere near a perfect one, which I fear is what most women on this site are expecting. Having tried this site a couple of times recently, and giving up very quickly, I even wonder if this is just a gateway site to pull you into paying for Match.com (wonder if this will make it past approval stage?), perhaps someone will prove me wrong? I probably tried too hard to make myself 'appealing', including a 'nice' photo of me, and some generic profile guff that I thought might sound good, not lies in any any, just ignoring the majority of my characteristics. No longer! Take a look at the photo for a start (good on you for even clicking on my profile to be fair), I pull this face quite a lot, especially after a few beers, so anyone remotely interested would have to put up with this on a regular basis. I swear pretty much continuously unless I deem it really inappropriate (I can turn it off, I just choose not to), have a mix of infantile crudeextreme gallows humour, I'm quite eccentric, and can't say I'm really a people person (prefer cats to be honest, even now I don't have one). However, I am, in my own way, very caring, and have worked in the charity and care sectors for nearly half my life, and the few people that do stick around for the ride seem to value my friendship and advice, and if one day I do fall in love with someone the same way I did with my late partner, I doubt they will have ever been loved as much in their lives. So, if anyone has made it to here, for any other reason than to see if it gets any worse, then maybe send me a message. This approach can't be any less successful than my other attempts, what have I got to lose?
