Cattle Market, Cambridge: a journeyI squatted a bike shop, had a party, six police cars turned up. People got cross that they couldn't join the party anymore. Police vehicles were harmed. A council venue committee was formed. I attended. A warehouse was built on the Cattle Market site. The council figured they could sell it off as that if the demand wasn't there. The Junction is now so popular that there is a second building, Junction 2. A couple of supermarkets and a load of restaurants, bowling, a multiplex cinema and a hotel sprang up. Still a bit of a Cattle Market, but more fun. We could meet up there after Strawberry Fair the day before? Cambridge Show? Ha! |
