All pretty much history now, as that was when I looked more like Elvis than Danny De Vito! Right now, I have almost finished producing and directing a comedy feature film, which is why I'm slightly paranoid, unnecessarily bald and cynical. Well, not that bald.
I'm 48 but could easily pass for 47, or 50 on Tuesdays. I sometimes look like a little like Kevin Spacey, only slightly fatter. Well, not that much fatter! Love Switzerland for the log fires and Blackpool for the chips. Hate arrogance, vanity, extreme right-wingers and people who've been to theatre school, unless you are super-gifted, of course.
Rather than visit art galleries in an effort to look like somebody who listens to Radio 4, or improve the curvature of my spine by learning how to kiss it through intensive yoga classes, I much prefer candle-lit conversations and quiet, unobtrusive intimacy to running, jumping about in Lycra, swimming with dolphins (which people feel obliged to mention as an ambition 'cos it was listed in Cosmo as something one simply must do), or stroking my chin earnestly when someone says existentialism at a dinner party that I don't want to be at in the first place.
Let's face it, humour, intelligence and authenticity count for everything. Would rather look you in the eye on a date than look at relics in a museum!
Anyway, I love big silly hair or, indeed, any hair on a girl. Throw in a bit of fake fur and PVC boots, and we are away!
