Being around normies all the time is fine. Like you, I’ve done that all my life. But it does drain me and makes me need to spend a lot of alone time to decompress. This does not happen, though, when I’m with my people the fellow wacky off-kilter playful types who delight in the patterns found on a leaf, or in seeing two identical cars coincidentally driving next to each other. It’s tiring not being able to celebrate in the world with people not on my wavelength. That’s what I’m looking for here - in friendships and in finding something more romantic. It’s a hole in my heart that I am now actively and consciously working to fill. I am not looking for someone to help me find meaning and purpose: I have that.
I know you folks are out there. Just reach out: the worst that can happen is that we don’t click - and I’m okay with that.
