My favorite team is Mississippi State University as it is my alma mater. For many years MSU was the doormat of the Southeastern Conference and considered an easy win against the “big boys” and our in-state rival, U of Miss. This was frustrating for both students and alumni since this was how our college was represented, That changed when Jackie Sherill became coach in the 80s and changed the environment. Even so there is still a little of “having to prove we belong” in SEC play.
