There are many surprises in life. Some are wonderful, while others take the wind out of our sails. Two years ago I had the wind knocked out of me when I lost my wife of 15 years. One year later it happened again when a relationship didn't work out.
I have been making slow and painful recovery. I share this because I live in a very different world. The spiritual warfare is real, and the hardships are real. On the positive side, there is a life that cannot be bought. Friendships run deeper than family bonds, and the reward of knowing that even the mundane tasks are a sacrifice to Christ.
I love putting a smile on someone's face, like ordering hamburgers and cokes when I am paying at a toll gate.
