I think some people are born to be alone. It's Darwinian selection. In the wild, the weak don't survive to adulthood, they are taken care of by disease or predators - in some cases, killed by their own mother just moments after birth to give the stronger in the litter a better chance. However, in modern society, with the abundance of food, lack of natural predators and advances in medicine, the weak are left to suffer a meaningless existence, bereft of any joy or emotional fulfillment, tortured by a world they were never meant for.
And so, that is where I find myself: Alone with my own misery and self-loathing, struggling to find meaning in an empty, love-less void. A shell, longing for an end to this Hellish nightmare.
