I am a 36-year-old British composer, and former conductor for the National Canadian Orchestra as Foreign Conductor. I got married in 1996, aged 18, which was a mistake. I had had a son with this woman, Julie, in 1993. I was 16 then, and marrying Julie in 1996 seemed like the right thing to do. I didn't study the History of Music at Oxford (on a scholarship) to look after my son, whom we named Barry. Julie became manipulative and unstable. We divorced in 1999. She has bee n given help, and is now fine, by the way. Barry is currently at Cambridge University, studying Agriculture. I am pretty much secure financially, through my work in music. I work occasionally, and aspire to possibly settle down and eventually raise a child the proper way.
