Ive been struggling with my hearing since my late 20s, slowly deteriorating to the point I wear hearing aids in both ears. With hearing aids, I struggle with loud sounds and have limitations with socialising in groups as I tend to struggle to keep up with mixed conversations leaving me isolated at times. I like to have fun indoors rather than outdoors. For example watching a film at home rather than the cinema would be preferred (subtitles & loudness) also with people wearing face mask I find words in conversations to be muffled.
I’m just adjusting to my new do’s and don’t as I’ve been wearing hearing aids for the last 3 years. With adapting to hearing aids in my mid 30s has taken some getting used to!!! I have my good days and I have my bad days, mostly good :) would rather be honest about it because I’m just here to meet new people and have new conversations.
I’m experimenting new social avenues :)
