I have covered wars in Africa, the Middle East and elsewhere for most of my professional career and am still at it. Back recently from trouble spots in Beirut, Mali and the Central African Republic. I survived cancer and keep myself in fairly good shape in the gym where I prefer swimming. I don't suffer fools gladly and prefer someone who is erudite, reads a lot and prefers a good play to a party. I am not wealthy, but I pay my way, so if there is someone looking for a distinguished six-footer who prefers mental pursuits and tactile adventures, then let's hear from you. I am due to go on safari along the Zambezi River in Northern Botswana within months and possibly you would consider joining me. For you Americans, London is roughly the same distance from the US East Coast as is LA or San Francisco. And coincidentally, I lived in the US for a dozen years and loved it - all at the mouth of the Columbia River. I am not overweight myself, so won't appreciate a heavy partner.
