I think when you get a message like that, you should recognize that you're talking to someone who kinda sucks at dating. They're putting the relationship before the person. They're looking for someone to fit a mold, not to explore what they can have with someone. Be completely honest with them and don't concern yourself with the outcome much. "I'm here to meet people and make connections. I'm not going to define my relationship with a person before I even meet them.
