‘It’s easy,’ they said, encouragingly. ‘You just need to write a profile and stick it on a couple of dating sites with a photo or two,’ they explained. ‘Just do it, woman,’ they insisted, somewhat exasperatedly. ‘Thanks, that does sound easy,’ I said (foolishly). And then I told my friends how hilarious they were for giving me such a skewed view of just how apparently easy it is to write a profile and get involved in this mysterious world of online dating. So, despite finding myself in unknown territory and murky waters, I am finally taking the plunge!
