That's fairly straightforward. If the people around me are happy I'm happy. True, as you go through life you do learn what makes for happiness and what makes for trouble and discord and I do like to learn from other people although even the company of the old computer is better than vegetating. I like to think I've got better at happiness over the years, by practising various techniques, such as basic ones like using my imagination to work out how someone else might be feeling or thinking, or looking at the world from their point of view.
