I'm forty two and single and feel like my life is just getting started. I've spent years being the good husband and father and now it feels like it is time for me to be good to myself (I'm divorced, and no longer the good husband, but I will always be the good father). I'm from an art background, and have to many interests to list them all (and not enough time for them all either). A few of them are travel, all kinds of music, swimming, yoga, reading and nature. I feel like I am good looking and try to take care of my mind and body. I think I'm in the best shape of my life. I own my own business and it's driving me crazy, but I love it. I don't think I could ever give up the independence of being a small businessman.
The type of woman that interests me is powerful, self-assured, self reliant and emotionally healthy (at least as emotionally healthy as possible). Also, a woman who can give and take in conversation, who knows what is going on in the world and has opinions about life and the state of the world is very attractive to me. I feel funny describing physical ideals because I've never been attracted to what is known as typical beauty, or the kind of beauty sold by corporate America. A woman who knows their power and carries herself through life in a confident way is the most attractive to me, regardless of their looks. That being said, I think physical attraction is important too. As I get older I seem to need more human contact. My feelings are more intense and passionate. I'm not sure this is the right place to post a personal ad, but if it helps me meet interesting and intelligent women, then maybe it is. Trying something different is better then letting life slip by without living it. I wrote the above text over a year ago now, and it's still truely to how I feel. I've met a bunch of nice people, and made some friends. Internet dating isn't easy or fun all of the time, but it has changed the way that I think and see, and that's good. Doing this has taught me that I'm a whole person and that I can live life alone, but that it would be fun do have someone to share my life with too. So, write to me and I'll write back. Bye.
