Hey,
Well I guess firstly the predictable introductory bit. As a geek barely hatched out of his shell, I am shy so this seemed a good place to if nothing else get used to talking to new people again , and maybe if I am really lucky meet the one soul to spend the rest of my life with.
I have an interest in asian history primarily Korean and the Chinese historical period of the Three Kingdoms. Though I rarely have had the time lately I love the outdoors, there is no place that I am happier than high up in the mountains, any mountains really, perhaps it's the solitude, the sense of ones insignificance in comparison to the earths many majestic mountains, or just an excuse to get away from the rat race of life. Running is another pastime I enjoy and am hoping to be able to do the three peaks challenge next year once my fitness levels are high enough. Bookworm is another word to describe me, primarily fantasy is my choice of subject matter, though I have been known to dabble in horrorSci-Fihistor ical fiction from time to time, though E-bookworm would be a better, more accurate definition of my love for reading as I rarely read actual books now thanks to digital print. What geek would be complete without a love for computers and video gaming, though I am more into my role playing games than shooters, and love my movies including a lot of foreign films, both Asian and European.
By trade I am a chef but left the trade a long time ago, I couldn't justify continuing working ridiculously long hours, I was lucky if I managed to find time to see my parents once a year, a situation I soon remedied after moving on and realising just how important family was to me. I always wanted to be in a position to help people and ended up working as a porter in my local hospital, which despite the usual issues with any job became perfect for me, rediscovering my love for people I guess, to be able to make a patient smile, forget where they are for a moment, that for me was what my job was all about, where my heart was at. So perhaps, for many people (if any are) reading this, my job seems humble, without prospects, well I say this, do you get job satisfaction every day? I do.
