Developing lifelong friendships with dogs is easy. Cultivating and maintaining a lifelong human partnership is considerably more complicated and I don't think I have mastered this challenge. Even so I am interested in meeting others for friendship or more and with whom to share and laugh about the later passages of life. My friends and dogs would describe me as thoughtful, loyal, creative and funny. I try to live in the moment and give my full attention to whatever I'm doing. I get tired easily and occasionally depressed (mostly stories of cruelty) but this is offset by my ability to notice and wonder about things. Simplicity is satisfying for me--no expectations of globe-trotting, exotic vacations, or fabulous lifestyles. In the end, what we give to each other is loving attention and the best gift of all is to be authentically ourselves.
