I am always willing to listen to other peoples views even if I might not agree. I like to restore or recycle furniture and odd, quirky things and spend time at antiques fairs and warehouses. I go for walks around the countryside near where I live but dont climb mountains or steep hills. Like to watch rugby on TV in season. I read books - biographies or autobiographies. I love to go for drives in the country and see where the road ends and find a nice pub or cafe for refreshments. Love the Lakes and the Yorkshire Dales. Would go farther a field for a weekend break but not on my own. Like doing my garden. It is low maintenance now and this year I have grown lots more plants in containers. My outlook on life has changed due to Covid and political unrest around the world but Im not going to let that spoil my life. I don't like bad mannered people, vulgarity and foul language. I also don’t understand why people would want to keep rats or snakes as a pet but most other pets are fine. I would love another dog and maybe now I am semi retired I might get a rescue dog. I took early retirement from a great career as a Homeless Officer but I still do a couple of days a week as there is a National shortage of Senior Officers. I moved back into my little house 4yrs ago and now just refurbishing it. It was a rental for a long time so needed doing inside and out. For these last 4yrs I have been trying to decide whether to move to Bristol where my remaining family live or maybe go back to USA where I lived for a while. However I am settled here and so just need to finish my kitchen and house is sorted. My future is in God’s hands but I believe He is opening a new chapter in my life. I do some voluntary work (Counselling and helping people with issues) on a Thurs. There are so many broken and hurting people that need a hand to find their self worth and purpose. Anything else you would like to know just ask. Oh, one picture shows me with a beard. I grew this during lockdown as I couldn’t get a hair cut but beards are not my thing. |
